Mohanlal again as Major Mahadevan in Kandahar movie

After KeerthiChakra and Kurukshetra, Mohanlal is again coming as Major Mahadevan through Kandahar the movie. Like the other two films, Kandahar is also directed by Major Ravi. The movie is also released in Tamil and Hindi. The story of Kandahar is based in the real hijacking incident of Indian Airlines Flight 814 in Kandahar. The other leading roles in the movie Kandahar are played by Amitabh Bachan, Ganesh Venkataraman, Parvathy Omanakuttan and Kaveri Jha.

The shooting locations of Kandahar were Russia, NewDelhi and Ootty. The budget of Kandahar is exstimated as Rs.6.50 crores and the movie already collected Rs.6.25 as satellite, overseases and audio-video rights before releasing. The five songs in Kandahar were composed by Shamir Tandon and lyrics are written by Vayalar Sarath Chandra Verma, Sudhakar Sharma, Sandeep nath and Kaushal Kishore.

Kandahar will be released in 111 theaters in Kerala on 16th December 2010.

BigB’s role in Kandahar

Amitabh Bachan is playing the role of Ganesh Venkitarman’s (playing second lead role in movie) father . Some of the sources reveal that he was offered a compensation of Rs.8 crores but he refused it and agreed to do the role in movie along with Mohanlal.
